Q: What happens if I lose my key(s)?
A: If you lose your key(s), the cost of replacement (per key) is £180 + VAT. If both are lost, a certified locksmith will be required to change the locks.
Q: Can an account be opened for multiple people?
A: The maximum number of account holders per box is 2, plus a Power of Attorney (if relevant). We can also add a third person to the account for an extra charge of £30 per year.
Q: For joint accounts, do both people have to be present when accessing the box?
A: Joint accounts can be accessed by just one of the account holders.
Q: Can I open a single account and a joint account?
A: Yes, they will be treated as separate accounts.
Q: How long can I spend in the vault?
A: You can spend a maximum of 15 minutes in the vault per visit. If a longer visiting time is required, a special appointment is to be made and requires a minimum of 48 hours' notice.
Q: Do you charge extra for visiting?
A: No, there are no extra charges.
Q: Is there a limit to the number of visits I can make?
A: You can make as many visits as you need throughout the duration of your rental agreement.
Q: Is there a registration fee?
A: Yes, a one-off non-refundable registration for the first year fee of £79 + VAT is added to the annual cost of the box.
Q: If I renew for a further term, are there any additional charges?
A: There are no additional charges if you choose to rent the box for another term.
Q: What are my insurance options?
A: The standard insurance when you rent a safety deposit box is £10,000.
You may take out additional insurance from £20,000 to £150,000 for an extra cost. Further information on options is available on request.
Q: What happens if, during my contract with you, I need a different size of box?
A: You can change the size of your box within the 12-month rental period. If renting a bigger box, you only need to pay the difference between the cost of your current box, and the one you wish to rent.
Q: How good is your security?
A: We have high-definition CCTV cameras monitoring the offices and the vault 24 hours per day, a biometric screening process, and in the case of any attempted break-in, our alarms are connected to the police Armed Response Unit. We have close proximity to two police stations.
